Addressing Workforce Challenges in the Australian Residential Aged Care Sector: Enhancing Quality Care for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Residents
PhD research Summary
The PhD research focuses on workforce challenges in the Australian residential aged care sector, particularly in providing quality care for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) residents. The study explores barriers faced by aged care workers, including communication, cultural understanding, and workforce support. Using literature reviews, interviews, and Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM), the research aims to identify the relationships between these challenges and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations. The findings are expected to support policymakers and aged care providers in improving workforce performance and enhancing culturally appropriate care for CALD residents in Australia.
