

Professor Bo Xia
Dr. Bo Xia is a Professor of Construction and Project Management in the School of Architecture and Built Environment, at Queensland University of Technology. Prof. Bo Xia is an internationally recognized expert whose research on people-environment interaction contributes significantly to the development of sustainable retirement villages, age-friendly communities and cities, and innovative senior living solutions. Bo’s multidisciplinary expertise in environmental gerontology, urban planning, and construction management enables him to create better built environments that enhance the quality of life for the aging population.
He collaborates with and invites industry partners—including builders and developers, urban and social planners, aged care providers, and government agencies—to develop effective procurement systems, innovative planning and design solutions, and tailored policy implications that create inclusive, accessible, and supportive environments for our society in general and the ageing population in particular.

Biography
Dr. Bo Xia is an ARC Future Fellow (2025-2029) and Professor in the School of Architecture and Built Environment, Queensland University of Technology. His research focuses on the built environment for older people, age-friendly communities and cities, sustainable buildings, and construction & project management. His work has been published in top-tier journals and presented at leading international conferences. Currently, Prof Xia serves as the editor of the International Journal of Construction Management and as an Editorial Board member for the ASCE Journal of Management in Engineering, Advances in Civil Engineering, and Built Environment Project and Asset Management.
